Outlines

This course is designed to instruct students to understand the basic structures of Korean language and to achieve everyday basic communication ability. This course will also provide an introduction to the cultural background of Korea which will be of help to students’ acquisition of Korean language

  • Jeju Island and lava tubes are the UNESCO Natural heritage of Korea. Collect a few photos of the island and share them with the class mates. It would be better if you can explain the photos.

  1. Korean alphabet-Hangul: History
  2. Basic consonants & vowels: Names of the characters, combination and pronunciation
  3. Double consonants & vowels: Further variations in combination & pronunciation
